If your cat starts spraying around the house first have him/her checked for FUS (Feline Urinary Syndrom). If you've ever has a bladder infection, you'll understand why he is doing what he is. If the tests are negative, consider whether conditions in the house are making him feel insecure as the introduction of another animal, recently moved furniture or redecorating, introduction of another person or just a lot of arguing and strife. Get a large cage (You should have one anyway in case your cat needs confining for medical reasons or just during a party). Place his/her sandpan, water and food bowls and a bed in the cage. Leave the cat in the cage for at least a week to reacquaint them with the old kitty pan only letting them out when supervised. Get a water pistol and squirt the cat everytime they back up to spray something. Cats really hate that!! Just be patient. When not threatened and neutered early enough, your can will learn not to mark his/her territory.
